My offer has been rejected by the university; can I cancel my booking?
Yes, you can cancel your booking if your university offer has been rejected. Please take a screenshot of your rejection letter from UCAS and include your name and reference number. Send this information to info@pfpstudents.com within 3 working days to receive a full refund of your deposit.
Do I have contents insurance?
Yes! All Derwent Students are automatically covered by Howden, the UK's number one student insurer. However, this basic cover may not fully meet your needs, especially if you own high-value items like computers and smartphones. We strongly recommend reviewing your policy and considering an upgrade if necessary. For more details, visit Howden's website to check your policy specifics.
Who looks after my deposit?
Your deposit is safely stored away with the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS). If you have any questions or need assistance, you can contact them at 0330 303 0030.
I'm an international student, do I need a guarantor to book?
If you wish to pay your rent in instalments you will need a UK Guarantor.
If you don’t have access to a UK Guarantor you can apply to Housing Hand. They provide a UK guarantor service for international students who are unable to provide a suitable guarantor.

Can I pay via an installment plan?
Yes, you can as long as you have a guarantor who is a UK home owner. If you do not have a guarantor, you can contact Housing Hand who can help you with the guarantor process. Please visit their website or you can call them on 0207 205 2625.
Do you offer dual occupancy?
Yes, we offer dual occupancy at an additional cost at Virginia House, due to the large apartment sizes.
Can I sublet my room to another student?
No, we do not allow subletting at Virginia House.
